Earning some turns to end the week

— Backcountry skiing, Bolton Valley, Cross-country skiing

Lovely light on Friday afternoon! We ended the week by earning some turns on the backcountry ski trails at Bolton Valley, Vermont.

It was a bit chilly, especially when the breeze came through, but the sun felt great when it found us. The snow is not real deep up there but it is light and fluffy (except where snowshoers had made craters along the trail). You do need to still watch for water bars and other obstacles.

The cross-country ski trails look like they are better shape with the recent snow.

I guess we won't get hit by the Nor'easter this weekend, but we should enjoy some sunshine!
