Liz StephenThe US Ski Team has named its cross-country team for the coming season. With only seven athletes, the team roster is lean, but mean.

Two Vermonters are among the nation's elite team: Andy Newell of Shaftsbury, Vermont — an alumnus of the Stratton Mountain School — and Liz Stephen of East Montpelier, Vt. — an alumna of the Burke Mountain Academy. (Both are pictured here.)

Also with Vermont ties is Simi Hamilton, an Aspen, Colorado, native who was an NCAA All American at Middlebury College.

Read this US Ski Team link to read up on all the athletes. And check out this great video which gives an inspiring look at the team and its tremendous potential.Andy Newell

Bottom line: US nordic skiers are on the move, and Vermonters are helping to lead the charge!
