With that crazy October snowstorm, Mother Nature allowed Killington to get a jump-start to the ski season. The resort continues to offer skiing daily as weather and conditions allow.

Meanwhile, other Vermont ski resorts are pulling out their snowmaking guns and fans and preparing the lifts and base lodges for skiers and riders later in November and December.

Ski Vermont recently reported these tentative opening dates:Riding last year at Bolton Valley

October 29: Killington opened for the season and Mount Snow opened a lift-served jib park for the weekend

November 19: Mount Snow, Okemo Mountain Resort, Stowe Mountain Resort, Sugarbush Resort are expecting to open for the season

Nov. 23: Stratton Mountain Resort expecting to open

Nov. 25: Bromley Mountain Resort, Jay Peak Resort, Smugglers’ Notch Resort expecting to open

December 10: Bolton Valley Resort, Burke Mountain Resort, Middlebury Snow Bowl expecting to open

Dec. 16: Pico Mountain, Suicide Six Ski Area expecting to open

Dec. 17: Magic Mountain expecting to open

Think snow, or at least cold thoughts!
