In the shadow of Vermont's third-highest peak (Camel's Hump) sits a low-key, nonprofit trail system called Camel's Hump Nordic Ski Area. We did a very nice ski loop there this morning.
Camel's Hump Nordic maintains over 65 kilometers of groomed and backcountry trails. They say they regularly groom 20-25 km for both classic and skate skiing. The trails range from easy field loops to challenging backcountry trails and steep terrain.

What a gorgeous Friday to explore the twists and turns of the Camel's Hump Nordic trails! This volunteer-run Nordic trail network has a lovely setting in the quiet woods of Huntington, Vermont. As its name suggests, the trails are near Camel's Hump, Vermont’s third highest peak. However we did not see the Hump where we were skiing; a ridgeline was in the way.

I've been wanting to ski Honey Hollow from Huntington for a couple of years. It's located near Camel's Hump—partially in Huntington and Bolton, Vermont. I've snowshoed and even skied up a ways from the Duxbury Road parking lot a few times, but I've wanted to do a car shuttle to allow me to check out what backcountry skiing lies above.
