On the cross-country trails at Bolton Valley, Vermont

On the cross-country trails at Bolton Valley, Vermont.

This afternoon we enjoyed a cold Nordic ski at Bolton Valley. After recent rain, snow and then cold temperatures, we weren't sure what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised!

There was still a base of snow. Saturday's snowstorm left a few inches of snow, but only the top inch was powder. With the sun low on the horizon, we had a nice ski in the afternoon sunshine. It was cold, so we definitely had to keep moving.

We noticed that the rivers were running and were trying to freeze up again. We also saw quite a few animal tracks. Perhaps bobcat tracks???
