Closing out the weekend with sunny skiing at Bolton Valley Resort

Nice views during a bluebird Sunday at Bolton Valley Resort.

Looking west to Lake Champlain and Whiteface Mountain in the Adirondacks.

There are still deep stashes in the woods.

Look for shady areas for lighter snow.

Half-groomed, and half au-naturel snow under the Timberline Quad.

Lots of happy skiers and riders out on this warm Sunday.

The word of the day: "Gorgeous!"

Everyone we rode the lift with marveled at how glorious the weather was today at Bolton Valley Resort in northern Vermont. The sun was bright and warm, there was no wind, and snow was plentiful thanks to this past week's long-duration snow storm.

Bolton Valley saw nearly five feet of snow fall from Tuesday to Thursday. Really.

The groomed trails offered packed powder skiing (so nice for mid-March!) while the ungroomed snow was still deep. If the ungroomed snow had seen the sun, it had a sun crust on it. But if you ventured into shady areas you'd find lighter powder to ski through. Such was the case in the glades. We gobbled up powder left-overs wherever we could!

How nice to enjoy bluebird days after a major snowstorm! Get out there while the getting's good!

Thank goodness the snow is back!

Thanks to a rather long-duration storm, some of Vermont's higher elevations saw 2 feet of snow through Monday. This was a very welcome development! The first wave of snow was heavy and wet, while the…

Enjoying some fluffy new snow in northern Vermont

Posted 2/18/24

So grateful for new snow! At higher elevations in northern Vermont, we've seen quite a bit of fluffy new snow in the last couple of days. Above 1600 feet or so there's often a decent, frozen base, as…
