Pop quiz: When the sky in Vermont is bright blue and the temperatures are springy, what should you do?

Our answer: Take the afternoon off and get some runs in at nearby Bolton Valley Resort!

The sun and warmer temps did their work on the snow. In many sunny spots it was full-on spring conditions. In the shade, the snow was firmer and faster. In areas that the sun doesn't hit at all, the snow was wintry.

We especially enjoyed riding the Wilderness double chair. We alternated between taking cruising runs down the trails, and picking our way through the glades. Recent weather has caused a bunch of branches — large and small — to scatter themselves in the glades. Snow was starting to drip off the trees so we got a little wet, too.

It was a great afternoon to get out into the sunshine!

Friday and Saturday bring warmer temperatures here in northern Vermont. Then we turn colder and might see some snow next week.

Please, oh, please, bring on the snow!
