Mikaela Shiffrin is super-charged in Killington, Vt., World Cup races

Hats off to ski racing phenom Mikaela Shiffrin for her wonderful performances this weekend in Killington, Vermont! This Burke Mountain Academy grad scored a strong fifth in the giant slalom, and she pulled off a win in the slalom — her specialty. Her grandma even watched her race on Sunday. How sweet!

It is estimated that 16,000 people gathered to watch the action on Saturday and 14,000 on Sunday. That's a nice turnout! Hope that helps FIS and US Ski Team bring more World Cup racing to the eastern U.S. It was cool to see ski racing in Vermont broadcasted on NBC Sports.

Visit this page for the full results from both days of racing.

Here are a couple of photos and videos that recap the action this weekend. Did you go watch the races? How was it?
