Sun and warmth skiing at Ole's

Sun and warmth while skiing today!

What a day to be out on the Nordic trails! The sun came out, the temperatures warmed up to “normal” wintertime numbers, and in the early afternoon there was not very much wind!

The SkiMeister and I took our skinniest classic skis to Ole's Nordic center in Warren, Vermont. Ole's trails don't have a huge base, in fact they need more snow to open their wooded trails, but what was open had good grooming and tracks. We kicked and glided and enjoyed the sunny scenery. Everyone there was reveling in the nice weather.

The weather is likely turning ugly for 24 hours starting Sunday afternoon, so get out Sunday morning if you can!

Thank goodness the snow is back!

Thanks to a rather long-duration storm, some of Vermont's higher elevations saw 2 feet of snow through Monday. This was a very welcome development! The first wave of snow was heavy and wet, while the…
