It's ski swap time! In Vermont, we have a variety of ski swaps to choose from. I try to find as many nonprofit / benefit / club swap events as I can to share with you here at Skimaven. If you know of other ski swaps in Vermont this season, please leave a comment below to fill us in!

Please visit the swap Web site and/or contact the organizers to confirm details before you drive miles and miles with a car full of ski gear or children!

Here are the details I have unearthed thus far for fall 2010. As more event dates and details are made available, I will update this post.

2010 Ski Swaps in Vermont

September 25
South Burlington Booster Ski Swap, So. Burlington High School
Sale is on Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Consignment drop-off is on September 24 at the high school from 4-8 p.m.
Pick up unsold items on September 26 from 9 a.m. to noon.


September 25
Pico Ski Club Gear Swap, Pico Mountain
9 a.m.-5 p.m.


September 26
Vermont Academy Ski Sale to benefit their winter sports programs
Shepardson Center, Vermont Academy, Saxtons River, VT
This is not a swap--they won't take your consignments; they will sell new and used equipment.
8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
 

October 2 - 3
Colchester Ski /Skate Swap, Colchester High School
October 2, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
October 3, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Drop-off equipment on October 1, 5-8 p.m. at the high school.


October 8 - 10
Killington Ski Club Swap, Snowshed Lodge
October 8, 5-9 p.m.
October 9, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
October 10, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Drop-off your consignment items between October 2 - October 7, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Snowshed Lodge.


October 9 - 10
Smugglers' Notch Ski Club Ski & Snowboard Swap
Champlain Valley Expo, Essex Junction
October 9, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
October 10, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Consignment drop-off is October 8 from 3 - 7 p.m.


October 9
Jay Peak Ski Club Ski Sale (demo and past-season equipment from various retailers -- not a swap).
Held at Jay Peak, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
 

October 23
Montpelier Recreation Department Ski / Skate Sale
Montpelier High School Gym, Montpelier, Vt.
9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Drop off items to sell: October 21, 4 - 7 p.m., and October 22, 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. at high school.

October 23-24
Middlebury Snow Bowl Ski Patrol Ski Sale
McCullough Crest Room, Middlebury College
October 23, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.;
October 24, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.


November 6 - 7
Cochran’s Ski and Ride Swap
Camels Hump Middle School, Richmond
November 6, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
November 7, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Consignment drop-off is Friday, November 5, from 6 - 8:30 p.m.


November 13 - 14
Waitsfield Elementary School Ski Swap, Waitsfield
Swap is Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Drop off consignment items November 12 from 4 - 7 p.m.


November 19 - 21
Okemo Ski and Snowboard Swap
Main base lodge, Okemo Mountain
November 19, 4 - 7 p.m. (with a 3 - 4 pm employee preview; or $5 for non-
employees);
November 20, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.;
November 21, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Ski equipment drop-off is November 13, 14 & 17 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. each day at Okemo's First Aid Building.

November 20 - 21
Cambridge Rotary Ski Swap
Cambridge Elementary School cafeteria, Jeffersonville
November 20, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
November 21, 8 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Drop off equipment to sell at the school between 6-8 p.m. on Friday, November 19.

November 26 - 27
Stratton Mountain School Ski Sale
At SMS, Stratton Mountain, Vt.
November 26, 3 – 8 p.m.
November 27, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Consignment drop-off is earlier in the day on Friday, Nov. 26.

If you are going to share this list with others, do include a link to www.skimaven.com, or the snow gods will ensure that you don't enjoy a single powder day this year. (Gasp!)
