Holy coastal blizzard, Batman!

Southern Vermont got dumped on thanks to this storm that made its way up the East Coast. Resorts were reporting one to two feet of new snow. Nice!Snow storm = good skiing in Vermont

As you head north in Vermont, the snow totals diminished. Even still, places like Smugglers' Notch and Bolton Valley reported several inches of new snow.

The only problem — and it's an all-too-common one — is the damn wind. Why does wind always seem to come to visit when the snow does? So today some ski resorts were reporting wind holds on their lifts from time to time.

The forecast still calls for wind so check the ski resorts before you head for the mountain to be sure you know what will likely be open. And ... wind means wind chill so be sure you have your neckwarmer and balaclava handy. You'll be glad you did!

You can visit our Ski Resorts page for direct links to the <link internal-link>Vermont ski resorts' ski conditions web pages.

Enjoy the new snow!
