Cross-country skiing in Vermont

Making our own tracks at Catamount Outdoor Center with Camel's Hump in view.

The Skimeister and I got out at lunchtime for some exercise in the brilliant sunshine. We played around in the powdery snow that is in the fields at Catamount Outdoor Center in Williston, Vt. Our skis plowed through about four inches of powder as we made loops under blue skies.

Central and northern Vermont were blessed with snow recently, with more than a foot falling at higher elevations during the last week. Southern-most Vermont didn't fare as well this time, but other times they catch storms that the rest of the state envies.

Looks like southern New England will be hit with a storm this weekend. Could you folks down there all face north, take a deep breath and blow the storm our way? We're always up for more snow!
