Summertime means mountain biking for many skiers in Vermont. I got a new-to-me full-suspension bike this spring and I'm really enjoying it.

Last weekend we hit up Kingdom Trails in East Burke, Vermont. Other times we ride in the woods in Stowe, Waterbury, the Mad River Valley, Essex and Williston.

Biking is one way we get to enjoy Vermont's woods and mountains in the summer. Check out some of our photos from this summer. The summer started out wet (muddy), but has dried up nicely.

This summer we had a first: It was the first time meeting a bear on a trail in Vermont (above Waterbury Reservoir). There have been quite a few bear sightings in Stowe this summer. And at Kingdom Trails we saw two deer while riding. We also saw the large prints of a moose who was trying out a new trail at KT. We kept thinking we'd come around a corner and see him!

Do you mountain bike in Vermont? Where do you like to go?

As fewer ski areas remain open in Vermont, and warm temps continue to melt away our precious snow, it's important to take advantage of nice days to make some spring turns! We flexed some work time…
