The coronavirus is throwing a wrench into a lot of plans. Ski swaps are no exception.

The volunteers who run these fundraising events have gone back to the drawing board to figure out how to offer them safely. Some have considered virtual swaps or outdoor sales, while others are canceling altogether.

We’ll update this list as more information comes in. Bookmark this page!

2020 Vermont Ski Swaps and Benefit Ski Sales

September 26

South Burlington High School Ski & Board Swap

  • Sale is Saturday from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • South Burlington High School, Dorset Street, SoBu
  • To follow safety guidelines, the sale will be held in tents outside — rain or shine — and no consignment gear will be accepted this year. You can find new and used Nordic and alpine skis, snowboards, boots and winter apparel at discounted prices from vendors.

November 2 - November 27

Okemo Mountain School Virtual Ski Swap

Due to COVID-19, they replaced the in-person swap with a virtual sale.

  • Gear donation drop-off (donations only, no consignment): September 14 - October 19 by appointment only at OMS in Ludlow, Vt.
  • Online sale dates: November 2 - November 27.
  • Gear pick up by appointment only.

November 2 - 5

Cochran’s Online Ski Swap

To avoid the crowds that come with the annual ski sale, they have moved consignment and the sale online. Consignors and buyers will schedule specific drop-off and pick-up times which allow for physical distancing. Drop-off and pick-up will occur outside of the Cochran's Ski Area lodge, Richmond, Vt.

  • Register your consignment gear online between October 23 - 29.
  • Get an appointment to drop it off between October 30 - November 1.
  • The online sale is November 2 - 5.
  • After the sale, gear pick-up is November 7 - 8.

November 20 - 21

Cambridge Area Rotary Ski, Ride & Winter Gear Sale

  • Sale is Friday from 6 - 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. at Cambridge Community Center in Jeffersonville, Vt.
  • Consignment drop off is Wednesday, November 18, from 4 - 7 p.m. Soft goods must have been washed within past seven days. Hard goods should be clean and in good condition. Forms for consignment will be available in local establishments and online. Fill out paperwork in advance so you can “drop and go.” Attach a self-addressed stamped envelope if you’d like your check mailed to you.
  • Consignment pick-up is Saturday from 5 - 6:30 p.m.

  • The Killington Ski and Snowboard Club swap has been canceled this year.
  • The Colchester High School Ski Sale has been canceled this year.

More to come as the volunteers work out their plans!

Be sure to visit the swap website and/or contact the organizers to confirm details before you go. Note that this list covers benefit ski swaps and sales; it does not include for-profit ski sales.
