Snowy and sunny Friday at Stowe Mountain Resort

— Stowe, Alpine / downhill skiing

After a sunny morning at Stowe, the snow moved in.

Nice powdery snow on National — one of Stowe's Front Four.

The view into Smugglers' Notch.

We sought out powdery woods runs — and found them.

Tele turns on the Front Four.

Lots of snow in the Nosedive woods.

Here are a few shots of a great ski day at Stowe, Vermont, on Friday. I joined some friends at Stowe Mountain Resort for a half-sunny, half-snowy day.

We enjoyed some great, light powder all around — especially in the woods, where it was quite deep. (The one place we did find heavier powder was in the woods next to Chin Clip, off the Gondola. That slope faces the sun more than the slopes on the Quad side of the mountain.)

After a sunny morning, fat snowflakes fell during the afternoon. I understand they kept falling into the evening, as well.

Enjoy the images!

Thank goodness the snow is back!

Thanks to a rather long-duration storm, some of Vermont's higher elevations saw 2 feet of snow through Monday. This was a very welcome development! The first wave of snow was heavy and wet, while the…
